Jesus is depicted in this classic pose upon the cross at the moment of his crucifixion. The coarse lines used to detail his body contrast with the swirling, ornate decorations along the sides of the cross. This highlights the dual suffering of Jesus and the beauty of his sacrifice.

On the back of the cross you will find Roman numerals depicting the 14 stations of the cross and a carving of Jerusalem.

This piece is meant to stand alone and is set atop a tiered base attached to the bottom point of the cross. This gives the piece a delicate feel as the cross appears to be almost floating upon the base.
