This crucifix is accented with mahogany wood. The firm lines and tight corners on this cross imply a steadfastness in faith, and the endurance required of His believers.
However, this cross is not without its ornate features. At each of the points of the cross sits a circle of gold which contains a holy material behind glass, giving this cross an ornate decor while still retaining its earthly tethers.
On the back of the cross you will find Roman numerals depicting the 14 stations of the cross, a carving of “Jerusalem” and a hook for hanging.
Finally, the lighter olive wood used to carve the body of Jesus upon the cross against the darker brown of the mahogany alludes to religious significance. The dark of the cross represents sacrifice, and the body of Jesus glows with the light of God.
